Được thành lập vào năm 1989 với tên gọi Công ty Phát triển Thủy hải sản TP. HCM theo Quyết định số 144/QĐ-UB ngày 31/3/1989 của UBND TP.HCM. Sau đó Công ty ngày càng phát triển và đổi tên thành Công ty Ngoại thương và Phát triển Đầu tư TP.HCM theo Quyết định số 693/QĐ-UB ngày 03/12/1991 của UBND TP.HCM.
Ngày 23/12/1993 Công ty được UBND TP.HCM chấp thuận cho thay đổi thành Công ty Cổ phần hoạt động theo Luật Công ty với tên gọi FIDECO.

INTRODUCTION
Established in 1989 named as Fisheries Development Corporation of HCM City (FIDECO) under the Decision 144/QD-UB on 31 March 1989 issued by the People’s Committee of HCM City. Later on, the Corporation had got more achievements and changed its name to Foreign Trade Development and Investment Company of Ho Chi Minh City under the Decision 693/QD-UB on 03 Dec 1991 approved by of the People’s Committee of HCM City.
On 23 December 1993, the Company was approved by the People’s Committee of HCM City to convert into a joint stock company operating under the Company Law, called as “Foreign Trade Development and Investment Corporation of Ho Chi Minh City (FIDECO)”.
